Cancer is the leading cause of death in dogs, and early detection can be the difference between a cancer that is treatable and one that is not. In some cases, it can mean the difference between cure and loss.
The challenge is that early cancer often produces few, if any, obvious warning signs. Symptoms are frequently subtle, nonspecific, or absent until the disease is already advanced. In this webinar, we will examine why early cancer screening in dogs remains so difficult and explore how a new blood-based test may make it possible to detect cancer before clinical symptoms appear.
Topics will include:
-
How the screening technology works
-
Which cancers it can and cannot detect
-
What is currently known about test accuracy
-
When screening is appropriate and when it is not
-
How veterinarians and pet parents can access the test
